To help ring in the new year it usually helps to have a glass of bubbly in your hand. I enjoy champagne every once in a while. Friends have also recommended Prosecco and Cava for a change of pace.
Here’s a few lovely recipes you can use with any of these:
KIR ROYALE: 1/2 shot Creme de Cassis, fill glass with champagne
CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL: 1 sugar cube, place in bottom of glass. Add 2-3 dashes of Angostura Bitters. Add 1 oz. Brandy (if you have it). Add champagne at the last minute.
BELLINI: 1 oz. Peach Nectar, fill glass with champagne.
These are great any time of year but it’s especially fun to try these for New Year’s.
Enjoy! (within reason).

Ooooo, I LOVE champagne! It goes with everything, like french fries! Instead of cassis, consider a splash of “Raspberry di Amore” liqueur in your glass of champagne or sparkling wine.
Note to Jodi the electronic graphics operator:
No, “french” isn’t capitalized in “french fries” because it’s for the cut of the fries: “frenched” (not the country). So those American politicians were way off base for renaming them Freedom Fries since they have nothing to do with France.

Oh Gail…what would we do without you?
And I’m off to the liquor store to get some Raspberry di Amore. Could I also use chambord?
I would never have thought of the peach nectar idea. That sounds awesome. I’ll be trying that soon.
Thanks for the idea!
